We aim to tailor our service to fit around your business.  We pride ourselves on our professional and flexible approach, working outside of normal business hours or during weekends where needed.

From start to finish, each appliance takes around  five minutes.  Heavy items, such as washing machines, will naturally take longer as they require moving in order to expose the flex and plug top.

Do I need to have a label on my appliance?

The IET Code of Practice for in-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment  (5th edition), no longer specifies re-test frequencies.  Re-Testing is now risk assessment based and dependent on the type of appliance, its location and use.  We will be a happy to advise and send out reminders prior to re-testing.

No - However, the use of test a label can give the user confidence that the appliance is safe to use. Furthermore, labels speed up re-testing (as they're pre-recorded) and make asset logging easier for the client. IG PAT testers use the smallest label design possible.

What is a PAT Test?

PAT Testing can be broken down into 3 sections:


  1.    Visual inspection. This includes opening the plug top to ensure the correct fuse rating is fitted and the conductors are correctly fixed and secure.
  2. The Electrical test. Depending on the appliance class: earth continuity; insulation resistance; substitute leakage; polarity and function test

  2. The Electrical test. Depending on the appliance class: earth continuity; insulation resistance; substitute leakage; polarity and function tests are conducted.
  3. Recording. Each appliance is given an asset number and results are logged and recorded for the clients H&S and Insurance records.
